At Sonora, we use half-cylindrical sound absorbing material for the interior soundproofing of soundproof rooms and anechoic chambers. ( Soundproof Room : BFP, Anechoic Chamber : AST sound absorbing material )
Compared to flat shapes, half-cylindrical shapes have a larger surface area (about 1.5 times greater), making it easier for sound waves to enter the sound absorbing material. This results in particularly excellent sound absorption in the high-frequency range.
Additionally, flat shapes are prone to first reflections and can create parallel surfaces, which is disadvantageous in acoustic design. In contrast, the half-cylindrical shape is not flat, allowing it to diffuse and scatter sound waves.

Furthermore, the BFP sound absorbing material has a hollow interior, which adds a noise reduction function. It creates an image of sound being trapped inside.

Our company constantly focuses on research and development to enhance the sound absorption properties of sound-absorbing materials within limited space and wall thickness conditions.
