The flat sill soundproof door features a unique sealing method developed by Sonora Technology. When bringing a vehicle into a semi-anechoic chamber, the threshold can create a step, making it difficult to navigate during loading and unloading. Additionally, when transporting precision parts on a cart, the absence of threshold helps prevent vibrations when crossing the step. From a safety perspective, having no threshold is also preferable.
With the traditional construction of soundproof doors, a ramp was necessary to cross the threshold. However, to maintain the strength of the ramp for transporting heavy items, a heavy ramp had to be set up each time for loading and unloading, which was both dangerous and labor-intensive.
Furthermore, the flat sill structure is durable because it does not put pressure on the floor seal, eliminating concerns about degradation and reduced soundproofing performance. While the sealing method of the flat sill is a trade secret, it has been successfully implemented in many installations.
