Anechoic Chambers Support Both Ventilation and Air Conditioning
An anechoic chamber is a sealed space, so ventilation between the interior and exterior is necessary.
Without ventilation, people cannot safely enter the chamber (due to risks such as oxygen deficiency).
For this reason, ventilation systems (consisting of silencer ducts and fans) are included as a standard setup in anechoic chambers.
Likewise, when air conditioning is required, air conditioning systems (silencer ducts and air conditioning units) are necessary.

By performing ventilation and air conditioning through silencer ducts, the quietness within the anechoic chamber can be maintained.
Silencer ducts—also known as acoustic silencers—are similar in concept to automobile mufflers.
At Sonora, when constructing anechoic chambers, whether it’s ventilation only or ventilation plus air conditioning, we guarantee the interior background noise level, i.e., the quietness inside the chamber.
Example: Guaranteed background noise level during ventilation operation: ≤ 20 dB(A)
Silencer ducts are custom-designed according to the required sound insulation performance of the anechoic chamber.
