Thank you for your Email.

“Thank you for your Email.” – Sonora Technology has received this one sentence only by email from a Chinese manufacturer of electrical equipment in 2021.
Its course of events is explained hereunder:
- 1 Enquiry for an anechoic chamber from Company J, Chinese manufacturer of electrical equipment to Company K, a Chinese company specialized in soundproofing
- 2 Company K requested Sonora to handle it
- 3 An online meeting was held between those three companies
- 4 The meeting details was sent from Sonora to Company J
- 5 Company J replied to Sonora as already above-mentioned: “Thank you for your Email” only
In this project, Company J wanted to construct an anechoic chamber in accordance with international standards. Then Sonora took over it, as Company K was unable to fulfill the request.
During the online meeting, we have discussed with Dr. of Company J. However, it ended in about 20 minutes only.
Sonora gave the following explanation to Dr.:
- China’s targeted GB standards deviate from the ISO standards.
- In order to construct an anechoic chamber that meets international standards, it should be designed according to the ISO standards, not GB ones.
- Sonora explained the basic specifications of the anechoic chamber, and informed that the acoustic performance is guaranteed and that these figures can be achieved.
At this stage of explanation, the meeting ended with a statement by Dr. that “you are a liar!”
Dr. had no idea that the GB standards differed from the international standards, ISO. He recognized that the anechoic-chamber design method defined by GB was correct, and that Sonora’s anechoic chamber did not fall under that, so he said it was a lie. He may have believed that it was definitely impossible to construct an anechoic chamber with such thin panels and sound-absorbing wedges.
I have been engaged in the anechoic chamber industry for many years, but this was the first time I had been called a liar. However, I cannot say that the perception of Dr. was wrong, since it is common knowledge widely in China.
Following that, we sent an email message to Dr. in order to explain our perspective again, however, which resulted in a reply with just one phrase: “Thank you for your Email.” How do you feel about this phrase against the aforementioned course of events?
Thus, the perception of anechoic chambers in China seems to be different from that in Japan, Europe, and the United States. However, as the Chinese economy is getting to develop, the higher specifications for anechoic chambers would be also required. Once that trend arises, Sonora Technology would be indispensable in order to satisfy customer requirements.
There are excellent anechoic-chamber manufacturers in the world, while not-so-good ones as well. So, we’d like to compete with excellent nominees.
